Facility Rental Information

South Vancouver Neighbourhood House has a limited number of rooms available in various sizes for rent to other agencies and the general public on both a one time only and a longer term regular basis.  We are dedicated to making neighbourhoods better places to live by providing needed community services and supporting community development through building collaborative relationships with local residents and organizations.

Our regular hours of operation are 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday to Friday and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  We are closed Sundays.

Rooms can be booked for times we are closed.  However, we must charge extra to bring in staff to supervise during these times.

As South Vancouver Neighbourhood House is a non-profit society and not a government funded building it is absolutely necessary that we recover our costs to operate this beautiful new structure.  As much as we would like to be able to provide members of our community and, especially, other non-profit groups, free use of our facilities we are simply not able to do so.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Room Rates

• All rentals will be charged an additional $15.00/hour for a minimum of 2 hours if the room is rented during non-operating hours.  This charge is necessary as we must bring in staff to supervise and open and close the building for your group.
• A refundable damage deposit of $200 will be charged to all groups holding a social function and/or using the kitchen.
• Rent and damage deposit are required in advance unless otherwise agreed on by South Vancouver Neighbourhood House.
  Equipment, such as VCR’s and television, may be rented for an additional charge of $10.00/item.
• All renters are asked to put away all chairs and other equipment used, wipe down tables, wash dishes and clean up kitchen (if kitchen is used).

Rules and Regulations

• No smoking, alcohol or other intoxicants allowed on site.
• Due to extremely serious allergic reaction SVNH has a strict NO SCENT policy (perfumes, colognes, after-shave, certain hair product, lotions, etc.) Please respect this policy.
• Any food to be served to the public MUST either (a) be prepared on site by someone certified with Food Safe (b) purchased from a licensed restaurant or caterer or (c) be snacks only that do not contain any meat, fish or fresh dairy products.  (This is required as our kitchen is licensed.)  Potluck dinners are allowed.
• No animals are allowed on the S.V.N.H. property except for those trained to assist persons with disabilities.
• Parking, as allowed, on Victoria Drive, 48th and 49th Avenues.  Parking restrictions are posted.
• Children must be under the supervision of an adult at all times.  No person under the age of 19 years is to be left unsupervised.
• Space must be used for its intended purpose.
• S.V.N.H. reserves the right to refuse room rental services.
