Community Programs

Dialogue Circles

As part of our Building Welcoming & Inclusive Neighbourhoods (BWIN) program described above, come meet your neighbours, share your experiences and develop new skills! Everyone is invited - adults, youth and seniors.

In the neighbourhood most people care about their communities and would like to make a difference.  Yet it can be difficult to know where to begin and how to make progress.  Dialogue Circle is a rediscovered model for community connections, engagements and inclusion of the the Building Welcoming and Inclusive Neighbourhoods initiative at South Vancouver Neighbourhood House.  Over the course of a few years this initiative engoged a broad cross-section of newcomers and long time residents of all ages through story telling and presentations.

See our new and excellent Dialogue Circles video on Youtube at  Dialogue Circles video.  The film maker, Farzine Macrae, captured through his lense the participants' unique stories and experiences living in Canada.  The process of making connections and transforming understanding of oneself and others through exchange of knowledge through the Dialogue Circle is a centrepiece of the film.  Enjoy watching this short film and please share it with others.
