Children's Programs

Children’s programming is a very large part of what we do at South Vancouver Neighbourhood House. Not only do we have programs that are on-going throughout the year such as our out-of-school care and Poppins Preschool (September – June), but we operate several shorter term programs at various times during the year and a summer daycamp as well. Vietnamese Children's Language Classes
Provides Vietnamese language instruction to children through group reading club and connects children to their Vietnamese heritage More >>


Cultural Buddy Program
This program "buddies" up new immigrant secondary and elementary schoolyouth with more established immigrant secondary school youth based on interests, gender and, if possible, language.  Activities are recreational and allow newcomers to practise their English in a social setting while meeting new friends.  Program runs from October to May. Homework and Literacy Programs
Homework Havens is offered for children/youth who are looking for help with their studies or just need a place to do their homework.  Students receive assistance from trained SVNH staff and volunteers.  Program includes forty-five minutes of homework and forty-five minutes recreation time.  Snacks and drinks are also provided. Poppins Preschool
10 month program for 3-5 year olds from September to June.Each program has 2 qualified and licensed preschool teachers. More >>
